The shop started in 1946 a small business in the Oude Hoogstraat, mainly selling ordinary children s books, novels and popular scientific books to the famous Dutch "Leesbibliotheken" (privately owned libraries with popular books). In 1951 we moved to a somewhat larger building and a few years we opened a second shop, where the antiquarian department first started and from then and there we started grow fast. 40 Years ago we moved to the building in which we are now (Oude Hoogstraat 14-18), a former department store, 1500 square-meters (5 floors) full of antiquarian and secondhand books & prints. With the help of 6 employees we (as a family) are running the store, and our separately located warehouse. Buying we do together, all over the world. We specialize in Classical Archaeology, Art (before 1800), Architecture, Biology, Olympics, Applied Art, Topographical maps & prints, and we have a (very) large stock on most other fields as well.
