Teachers of modern languages are becoming more and more practical in their method of teaching the living language, and are securing the best results by constant drill in its every-day use. It is hoped that Anécdotas Espanolas may supplement the regular Spanish grammar or reader and make the course in Spanish richer and more complete.

To the practical and wide-awake teacher it would be superfluous to suggest the various ways in which these stories may be used in the class-room. There is abundant material in them for dictation, oral com position, and conversational drill, especially if they are supplemented by the idioms in the Appendix.
