This pocket-sized guide describes car tours, picnic places and walks throughout south-central Andalucia: the Alpujarra, Granada and the Sierra Nevada, the Axarquia, Antequera and the Torcal Natural Park, the El Chorro Nature Reserve, the Sierra de Mijas, Sierra de las Nieves, Ronda and the Sierra de Grazalema. It captures the very essence of this most evocative part of Spain. An ever-changing landscape awaits your discovery whether you are driving or walking - from the 'white villages' and ancient towns to the never-ending sierras, razor-sharp gorges and gentle verdant valleys. All the tours and walks are easily accessed from the popular Costa del Sol resorts. Since many people will explore Andaluca by car, most of the walks are circular. But for those without a car, there are timetables for local transport. The guide includes fold-out touring maps and large-scale (1:50,000) topographical walking maps. 7 car tours, 40 long and short walks, 23 picnic suggestions. Plan of Marbella. Free online update service with specific route change information on the publisher's website, maintained daily. The 'Landscapes' series, with 50 destinations, has been dubbed 'the blue Bibles' by the Sunday Times and led to Sunflower being one of only four publishers (from a field of 18) chosen as a Which? Recommended Provider of Guidebooks.. NOTA: El libro no está en español, sino en inglés.
Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor:
Since 1983 people out walking in sunny climes have been relying on our ‘little blue books’ to follow the trails – and to make friends with other walkers. Sunflower started by exploring the Atlantic Islands, but has branched out: we still love islands – from the Azores to Zakynthos – but we cover many mainland destinations too, like land-locked Switzerland and the coastal Basque Country. All our guides have the familiar mix of car tours, walks and picnics. More recently, we introduced restaurants and recipes in our ‘Walk & Eat’ series, which explores around cities from Stockholm to Avignon.
