This book is Volume II of the complete ten-year opus of American history research written from the author's distinct religious perspective as a Latter-day Saint. Mr. Ballard also wrote a non-denominational version of this work that is called THE COVENANT, LINCOLN & THE WAR (ISBN 0988375109). https://www.amazon.com/dp/0988375109

Volume II of The American Covenant picks up at the end of the Revolutionary War and takes the reader through the creation of the Constitution, then on to the tragedy of the Civil War, and on through to the challenges facing the Covenant in our present day today.

Volume 2 spends a great deal of time reviewing the role of Abraham Lincoln and how God raised him up to preserve the Union at a time when it was on the brink of collapse. If you enjoyed Volume 1 you will LOVE Volume 2 of this continuing work.

SYNOPSIS
The exciting and miraculous story of the American Covenant continues! With the Revolution drawing to a close, the nation-builders would need their national covenant with the Almighty like never before. Picking up where Volume I left off, Volume II will take you through the spiritually charged events surrounding the creation of the Constitution and the tragedy of the Civil War. You will also discover the undervalued events leading up to the present day, which shine further light on the covenant...You will learn...

• Why James Madison was chosen to be "the father of the Constitution."
• Why the Constitution is a direct reflection of the American Covenant.
• Why Joseph Smith so loved the Constitution, and why he felt compelled to run for the presidency of the United States.
• Why Abraham Lincoln, like a prophet of old, believed he had received revelation from the Almighty pertaining to this national covenant.
• Why Lincoln sought out a Book of Mormon during the darkest days of his presidency, and how this book of scripture possibly helped convert him to the national covenant.
• Why the Civil War was so tightly connected with the Restoration and God's efforts to build His kingdom on the earth, and how some of the most under-recognized fulfillment of prophecy occurred as a direct result of this national calamity.
• Why one of our more modem-day U.S. presidents felt an inexplicable bond with a prophet of God, and how this relationship was perhaps a reflection of some of the most important prophecies pertaining to God and country.
• Why we need to understand and live this national covenant today, like never before.

As with Volume I, upon finishing this second volume, you will ask, "How did I not see all this before?" As you explore these (and many other) powerful insights, the back story of American history will, once again, open your eyes to the many stunning and miraculous events, signs, tokens, and revelations pertaining to the Promised Land. The key to understanding it all is found in an ancient promise delivered by the Almighty to the inhabitants of this very land-it is found in The American Covenant.

Yes, you know this is a "choice land" given by God, but have you ever considered that perhaps there is a deeper connection-even deeper than you ever imagined between Heaven and America?

These are but a few samples of the many puzzle pieces that, when properly assembled, reveal the true nature and purpose of America.
