A unique story of the challenges faced by a couple married 35 years when dementia reared its ugly head. Travel through this journey with Godfrey, a former international rugby player, who, at 68 years of age, could no longer read, write or even sign his name due to the onset of this disease. His wife, Helen, describes their life together in her own words, but also takes on the persona of Godfrey as his shadow writer, expressing the tight bond that never wavered but changed their lives forever. We hear about their life at home and how it progressed over a period of eleven years in various venues in care, the love and confusion, but they always maintained their sense of humour and love for each other.

Godfrey was an international rugby player in the 1960s. Helen was a Hansard reporter for six years in the Senate of Canada. They became a team of court reporter and transcriber working in Canadian courts, the United Kingdom Royal Courts of Justice, and were contracted for deposition work in England and Europe.
