Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor: June Hall McCash is the author, co-author, or editor of ten books (two historical novels and eight nonfiction works) and numerous articles. Her first novel, Almost to Eden, won the Georgia Author of the Year Award in 2011. She is the recipient of eight other literary awards for fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. She has appeared in three film documentaries and on ABC's Good Morning America. McCash holds a bachelor's degree from Agnes Scott College as well as a master's degree and a doctorate from Emory University. She is the recipient of awards for teaching, distinguished research, and career achievement at Middle Tennessee State University and of an outstanding alumna award from Agnes Scott College.She has been a fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Council of Education and recently completed a nine-year term as a trustee of the Jekyll Island Foundation. Her 2012 publications include a historical novel, Plum Orchard: A Novel of Cumberland Island, a non-fiction work entitled A Titanic Love Story: Ida and Isidor Straus, and The Jekyll Island Club Hotel, coauthored with her son, Brenden Martin.
