Vanessa Newman began her writing career at the age of eight when she penciled her first 26-page novel, "The Adventures of Frances Landon," where the main character traveled to multiple countries in the very first page. Unfortunately, it did not receive the parental or peer-review approval she hoped. She dared to write again after attending Bradford College where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Studies. At this time, she published health and education articles in IDEA Fitness magazine, The Teaching Professor, and Rocky Mountain Fitness magazine. While she continued to write magazine articles for Women’s Edition, she also commenced an online writing career publishing articles for On Demand Studios, Livestrong and AnswerBag. This online writing also included creating 25 web-based courses for companies like SkillSoft and Anheuser-Busch. Vanessa later earned a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine and continued to focus on health-related writing. More recently, she has plunged into the world of creative writing earning 2nd prize in the 2015 Rogue Valley Messenger short story contest and self-publishing her first children’s story, Alex and the Messy Monster. There are two more children’s books in the “monster” series and Vanessa published her first novel, "Cardio Chronicles - Tiramisu, Tube Tops & Trouble." For Vanessa writing is just much more fun than any real job. She resides in Oregon.
