Excerpt from Acts Passed at the First Session of the Twenty-Fifth General Assembly, for the Commonwealth of Kentucky: Begun and Held in the Town of Frankfort, on Monday the Second Day of December, 1816
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, That at the next sitting of the circuit court held in and for Clay county, the said! Thomas Begly, Isaac Cal laham and Achilles Gibson,' upon appearing in court to answer said indictment, nfiy and they are m hereby authorized and allowed to make their elec tion whether they will be tried in the Knox nir cuit court cr'bot, and if they or either of them, should not elect to be tried in the Knox circuit court, the Clay circuit court shall proceed to try them, or either of them in the same manner as if this act had not passed.
