Quarter-bound in black leather with matching corners, nice green cloth sides and gilt titles on the spine. No dust jacket. This wonderful book is in really good condition, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. The book looks like it has been nicely rebound, by the previous owner, with his name, in gilt on the base of the spine and also on the top of the first advertisement page in faded pen and ink, dated 1942. The book is a reprinted volume dated 1941, with the original publication, dated 1939. Preface by Command of their Lordships. The Admiralty Navigation Manual, 1938 consists of three volumes and this specific book "Volume One" is a practical guide for executive officers covering the syllabus laid down for examination in Navigation and Pilotage for the rank of Lieutenant, omitting the study of nautical astronomy. 446 pages, all intact and nice tight binding. All pages, text, maps, diagrams and illustrations are in good, clear and clean order.
