BARRY STRANGE INDEED
What’s not to like? Certainly a legend in his own mind, Barry Strange makes himself useful if not exactly loveable to folks in his hometown. Retired and wealthy—and, perhaps with too much positive energy—he tries to befriend and lend a hand to every worthy person or cause. Friends and neighbors persuade him to just take a break, and a self-help seminar in nearby Washington, D.C., might be just the answer. There, Barry falls in love and makes new friends, but when mental constructions of reality slowly unravel, his transformation takes him into unforeseen territory.
