Inhaltsangabe

Faith Tales: Journey Through the Word is a heartfelt, faith-centered coming-of-age story that follows Maya, a young girl learning how to live again after the devastating loss of her parents. When she moves to a quiet Atlanta neighborhood to stay with Auntie Nita, she doesn't arrive with hope in her suitcase, just questions and silence. But Auntie Nita's home offers something Maya didn't expect... space to breathe, to grieve, and eventually, to begin again. As Maya slowly steps outside her pain, she meets three neighborhood kids who each carry their own invisible burdens: DJ, whose humor hides his fears; Zeke, a quiet artist weighed down by expectations; and Tiana, whose toughness masks the instability of her home life. What begins as casual encounters grows into a meaningful bond, especially after a sudden storm forces them into close quarters, where truth replaces pretense and each child shares what they've been holding inside. From that moment, their connection deepens, and Auntie Nita introduces them to a backyard clubhouse that becomes more than just a place to gather. It becomes a sanctuary built on honesty, kindness, and faith. As Maya finds comfort in this new community, a mysterious key hidden in her parents' Bible hints at deeper truths yet to be uncovered, while the unexpected arrival of her uncle, who seeks custody, threatens to disrupt the fragile peace she's found. In a powerful moment of unity, Maya realizes she is no longer alone. Through gentle storytelling and rich emotional layers, this story explores grief, resilience, friendship, and the quiet strength of faith, reminding readers that healing often begins in the simplest places... with people who choose to stand beside you.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

SA Brown is a Mississippi girl turned Atlanta storyteller who believes imagination, faith, and a lot of sweet tea can take you anywhere. A former educator, she traded grading papers for writing screenplays, novels, creative nonfiction, and children's books that uplift and entertain. Her work centers on Southern roots, Black voices, and the beauty of reinvention, especially for women who are finally putting themselves on their own to-do list. SA's film Telling Stories earned six festival laurels, and her live theater event, Dining Playhouse, brings drama to the dinner table (literally). With credits on Tubi, an audio drama, and a vertical platform called Cookout Shorts, she's building a storytelling empire one bold idea at a time. When she's not writing, she's mentoring the next wave of creatives or dreaming up ways to make faith, fiction, and film collide.
