Originally hailing from Scotland, and after a career in the entertainment lighting business, Mike was a Hospital Administrator for veterinary practices for 20 years before semi-retiring in early 2026. Mike continues to write, speak, and consult on management, human resources, marketing, and social media. A Top Writer on Quora, winner of the Founders Award from the Uncharted Veterinary Conference, and frequent poster to his own blog, Mike is also involved in various veterinary management, human resources, and marketing organizations. Mike is a voracious reader, consumer of film, theater patron, watches hockey games, and dabbles in Yoga and hiking; both of which he does badly. Mike splits his time between Aberdeen, Scotland and Las Vegas, Nevada.
