As the work of historians like Howard Zinn and Ken Burns have shown, history is more than dry recollection of important dates and events; it is also the stories of ordinary people and their response to the events that shaped their times. This book is in this tradition.
As Marie Dennis, author and former co-president of Pax Christi International wrote, “Tom Cordaro’s experience of the post-Vatican II Church in the United States makes his book both interesting and important – not only for those of us who remember the gift and challenge of those years, but perhaps even more so for those who are just beginning on a journey of their own. Tom’s view of different options for Catholic lay ministry and his thoughtful commitment to issues of social justice and peace enable his book to highlight some of the most important movements of the past 50 years.”
TOM CORDARO is the recently retired Justice & Outreach Minister for St. Margaret Mary in Naperville Illinois. He served the Church for over 40 years in ministry with a special focus on Catholic Social Teaching, young adult ministry and pastoral ministry. He has served in leadership at the local, regional, and national levels of Pax Christi USA and NETWORK.
