Ami started playing the Native American style flute in 2012 after hearing a recording of Song for the Morning Star by R. Carlos Nakai at a metaphysical bookstore. The sounds were enchanting, as any aspiring flute player can attest. After acquiring a couple of flutes and reading through several books, Ami decided to learn to play this instrument in earnest. Having played and studied piano as a child, Ami was able to understand the fundamental capabilities of the flute quickly. She studied through online lessons with several excellent teachers, recorded courses, flute schools, certification as a therapeutic musician through the Music for Healing and Transition Program, and the Musicianship and Leadership program of Music for People.A few years later, Ami decided to teach beginners locally in New Hampshire. Needing a curriculum for her students, Ami combined her love of writing and her skills as a desktop publisher to create the first version of this book for her local students.This book was first printed at a local copy shop in 2013. Ami taught in-person group lessons locally in Manchester and Concord, NH. The classes were popular and tons of fun. In 2016, Ami published the book on Amazon and IngramSpark.
