This young adult novel is about Matt and CJ, best friends since middle school and now in college. When Matt's great aunt dies, he's glad to move into her old house not far from campus. At first Matt loves the peace and quiet of the old house, but soon he finds out there's another 'being' also living in the house! He's uncertain how to deal with this and wants get rid of this unwanted guest but who can he ask for help? Who will believe him? On top of that, he finds out his great aunt wants him to find something she lost that she says is important and that needs to be dealt with. However, he can't seem to find this missing object and he's running out of time.
This book alternates from Matt and then CJ's perspective which allows the reader to see each situation from their perspectives. Alter all, your perception is your reality, right?
