The prose, poetry and artworks in this collection provide a glimpse into the lives and experiences of physician volunteers who work with MAVEN Project, a nonprofit Telehealth organization which provides support to partner clinics that care for underserved populations. These physicians came together as a community because of their shared mission of contributing their skills and knowledge to be part of the solution to health care inequity.

Although the book’s contributors come from diverse backgrounds, their writing and arts provide a natural context for human connectivity. Whether inspired by a physician-patient interaction or personal event, these pieces represent the creative process that begins with reflection and better understanding of one's own personal journey. It is hoped that the author’s and artist’s messages reveal for the reader, the often surprising, and inspiring events encountered during their lives and years of medical practice.
