Dr. Angela Reyes Carrasquillo is a distinguished professor emerita and the author of several books and articles on education, multiculturalism, bilingualism, and, more recently, self-motivation and empowerment. Born in Puerto Rico, she moved to New York City at the age of thirty, where she spent many years as a professor at Fordham University's Graduate School of Education. Dr. Diane Rodriguez is a scholar whose research bridges special education, bilingual and multicultural education, and teacher preparation. Her work advances inclusive and equitable practices that honor both linguistic diversity and the needs of students with disabilities. She has co-authored three books: The Bilingual Advantage; STEAM Meets Story: Using Adolescent Fiction and Film to Spark Deeper Learning; and Equitable and Inclusive Teaching for Diverse Learners with Disabilities: A Biography-Driven Approach. Beyond academia, she is the founder and leader of Every Girl Is Important, a nonprofit organization that empowers young girls from marginalized communities through mentorship and education. Dr. Vivian Rodriguez is a seasoned education leader with over 40 years of experience in New Jersey public schools, including serving as Assistant Superintendent of Schools. She currently contributes to her community as a member of the Board of Education, teaches English as a Second Language to adults, and is passionate about practicing and instructing yoga.
