During the fiscal year 2018-2019, 9.12 crore children were benefited from MDM scheme through 11.35 lakhs schools. In recent years, ill managed implementation of the scheme was highlighted in several audit /media reports. This irregularity highlights that there is need for reworking on governance to arrive at effective implementation.
