Most everyone would, I suppose, like to be an author. I guess it is our ego that makes us want to publish a book. No one, including me, is completely free of their ego. I hope and pray that I have higher motives than that. This book reflects much about me and much about the scriptures, the Holy Bible. It reflects my understanding of God’s word and great lessons from the word that everyone needs to know, learn and practice.

This year I turned eighty years old, having completed nearly 60 years in the ministry. I resigned a year ago from the church I worked for the past ten years and determined not to pursue another pulpit, but to worship and spend the remainder of my years in study and writing. Over the years I had written many articles and preached many sermons from the Bible and felt compelled to put them in print and share them with as many as possible. This decision resulted in the writing of this book, Word Power, Understanding the Gospel of Christ. My wife Loretta and my children, Angie, Beth and Jason have supported me and encouraged me to follow through. A neighbor and friend has been a tremendous help and encouragement in editing and publishing the book. I pray you will read and study my book and grow spiritually as a result.
