Inhaltsangabe

This book is an unabridged, expanded oral history personally vetted by Professor Zongyi Ning, a prominent scholar of classical Chinese literature at Nankai University. Guided by sincerity, conscience, a spirit of reflection, and a sense of gratitude, he offers a heartfelt recollection of his childhood and schooling amidst the turbulent upheavals of the 1930s and 1940s, as well as the emotional and spiritual journey of his life's ups and downs over the seven decades since entering Nankai University in 1950. From his unwavering dedication to teaching and his unique insights into the history of classical literature to the trials and tribulations of his romantic life and the profound bonds he shared with his father, mentors, fellow scholars, and students, this book serves as both a vivid, substantial chronicle of an individual's inner life and a compelling portrait and interpretation of the tumultuous experiences of a generation of intellectuals swept up in the great tides of China's history. ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿20 ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿1950 ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿70 ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿
