Self-realization is a state which can be achieved only through a process. This process involves specific stages. Also, self-realization is not a normal state hence everyone cannot achieve it as it is not feasible for everyone to renounce material desires and attachments altogether. However, one can move towards attaining self-realization by controlling the material desires and attachments.

Self-realization cannot not be achieved without performing action and such an action has to be performed.
