“Flowers” by Siri’s dictionary definition says that flowers are the seed-bearing art of a plant; the state in which a plant’s flowers develop and open.

Whether flowers are given or self-obtained, please take a moment to enjoy your flowers. We get them and trim the stems (slanted, of course), put them in some water, place them in a vase and/or set them aside.

I take time to watch the petals open, I notice how they quickly absorb the water, breathing more life into themselves for as long as they can. I love to give and receive flowers while marveling at their time-captured beauty.

I want the world to take time to see the joy that flowers can bring. I also want us to know that flowers have healing powers:

• Flowers brighten our day.
• Flowers provide comfort in times of sadness and grief.
• Flowers are a pleasant surprise, turning a good day into a great day!
