Students hate poetry. They get presented with an unseen poem and they say, 'help, what am I supposed to write about? Why do we have to study this?'

This guide is not going to persuade you to love poetry. But it is going to show you how easy it is to answer this question. And, obviously, how easy it is to get top grades.

This is my mission:

I want to help students and teachers get grades 7, 8 and 9, no matter what their starting points or circumstances.

Although AQA are obviously failing in their mission, they are doing this for what they believe are moral reasons. They believe that giving out answers to past questions will mean that students can copy them and use them in their mock exams.

They believe this will undermine the integrity of the assessment system.

I’ll let you judge that for what it is worth.

• I am going to give 29 graded answers from grade 4 to grade 9.
• You will see why the examiner gave it their mark.
• You will understand what I think you should learn from each answer, and how to force the examiner to give you higher marks.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank AQA for creating a market for my work. AQA, you are letting your students down. Thank you for allowing me to help them to get top grades, because you don’t want to.
