Write About Here - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

Written between 2009-2019, Akin Jeje’s WRITE ABOUT HERE spans worlds, eras and landscapes as it veers from contemporary Hong Kong through Asia to the globe, momentous historical events and intensely private moments, elegies for celebrities and intimates alike, but with an overarching determination that a poet’s relevance is in the here and now, recording experience, emotion and memory for enduring posterity.

Jeje’s 2nd collection delves deeper into the notion of bearing witness, be it politically or privately, culturally or aesthetically, does so with an intriguing blend of eloquence, outrage and compassion. WRITE ABOUT HERE is an unforgettable read, as fine as any collection of verse produced in current times.
