Sisters, Caitlin and Terri are both survivors of domestic abuse. Keith, Terri’s husband, attacks her and leaves her unconscious in their home, to which he sets fire. While Terri is recovering in the hospital, Caitlin persuades her to move from California to Texas, because she believes Keith will try to find and silence her.

Once settled in Texas, they work with the local battered women’s shelter. They set up an escape route, helping victims get away from their abusers, while rebuilding their own lives and learning to trust again. Meanwhile, in the background, Keith is closing in.
