Inhaltsangabe

This is the first volume in a light-hearted adventure story of the heroic Marquis de Rochambeau, set in the 1640s. Rochambeau is a young French Nobleman who has been tasked by Queen Regent Ann of France, to uncover a vast conspiracy to usurp her, and thus gain control over the seven-year-old King Louis XIV. It is soon learned that the conspirators are organized into a criminal gang known as Hydra, and that they are working with the Brethren of the Coast, which is a group of the worst pirates in history, led by a cruel pagan known as Jean Francoise Vasseur. All the while he must struggle with the pit falls of love and romance with the beautiful but vain Marie de Fontaine, and the deep mystery surrounding his birth. He is joined by the famous Cyrano de Bergerac, d'Artagnan and the three musketeers to battle a rogue's gallery of crooks, traitors and thieves, all the while assembling the greatest fleet of warships in the history of France in preparation for his legendary voyage to destroy the Pirates in the Caribbean Sea.
