The book was written based on the analysis of testimonials from survivors of catfishing scams. Very common in the virtual space, scammers look for people who show signs of vulnerability. The author has listened to numerous victims of fraud over her years working in the Prosecutor’s Office of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and has seen the people behind the testimonials. Now, she is determined to give these survivors a voice and help put an end to this kind of scam, which has claimed so many smiles and joy.
