Vily Able Guidroz was born in southern Louisiana. He was the sixth child and lived through a time of depression, lack of formal education beyond the eighth grade, and world unrest which resulted in WW II. He was an avid reader and absorbed knowledge at every opportunity. Difficult times were met with the spirit of survival and the ability to compensate for the perfect situations.
