In 1967 my grandparents went to Europe for the first time. They would go back four more times before 1974. They were a middle aged couple living in Oak Park, a part of the Chicago area. My grandfather, a vinyl record salesman; my grandmother, an artist and a home maker. They kept journals on the tour and took slides to show their friends. Each trip was a month long. They could tell tales from their journeys and their eyes would light up. This first trip included London, Paris, and Rome.
