Stella Collins, jolted out of sound sleep and pleasant dreams, is abducted from CrestView Manor, a senior residence that takes great pride in its safe, serene and secure reputation. The kidnapping becomes a logistical and public relations nightmare for the staff of CrestView who, in desperation, turn to a neighborhood bank to raise the exorbitant ransom demanded by the kidnapper. Meanwhile, new CrestView resident and retired police detective Dennis Canelos, also devises a plan to arrest the kidnapper and recover the money but, as we know, the best laid schemes often go awry - this effort is no different. What follows is a fast-paced satire with unexpected twists and turns that leave the reader both amused and charmed.
