Bo discovered fire three caves back. He invented the stick, the toothbrush, knife, and fire ring. He just wants to be left alone to finish the comb.

Beautiful unattached Dawn wants to move the village of two-dozen cave-dwellers out of the cave. “No cave is large enough.” No one lives outside a cave where rain melts people, as anyone knows—they’ve seen it. But, it rains "out there" and rain melts people. Now that's a problem.

Bo improves the cave by inventing the wall, which Rock (Bo’s nemesis and competition for Dawn’s attention) sets on fire. It's a start, but not an answer.

Bo comes up with a plan to build a lodge, motivating the villagers to build an inverted birds nest. They get it wrong and invent the bath instead! In the end, it leaks, He ‘d better come up with the solution soon! Dawn is not pleased, and Rock is laughing at him.

Bo trips across the answer and proves he is the original scientist and inventor, getting them out of the cave and discovering the most important scientific fact of all. Now they can live out there, but only if the lodge holds out rain.

It might pass the big test, but it takes courage to follow the truth about rain…and discover freedom.
