Jody Koenig Kellas is a Willa Cather Professor and chair of the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She conducts research and teaches classes on interpersonal, family, and health communication. Her scholarship focuses on the links between storytelling and well-being and developing narrative interventions to improve lives.

Valerie Manusov is a professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Washington, where she teaches courses in interpersonal, nonverbal, and intercultural communication. Her research centers primarily on the ways in which nonverbal events are interpreted and on how mindfulness plays out in interpersonal relationships.
