The author, Rick VanderHorst, believes that the spoken word is heard. The written word is felt. They say that there is nothing better than curling up in bed with a good book. That is why I wrote, "Words". So that I can snuggle up with Jen through my writings even if I'm not there. Maybe I'm on the nightstand but still next to her every night planting my feelings in her heart to be read over and over again.

An accomplished author and entrepreneur, Rick VanderHorst built a successful career in retail, insurance, and technology. A graduate of The Ohio State University, he holds an honorary doctorate from Dominican University. Five years ago, he began writing to make a difference. Through the VanderHorst Family Foundation, he and his wife Jennifer have supported education and those in need for over 30 years. Originally from the Midwest, he now resides in both Wales, UK, and Naples, FL.
