A biography of a prominent 20th century American rabbi who served congregations in Pennsylvania, New York and Rhode Island and as President of the Rabbinical Assembly. Of special interest is a detailed account of his service as a US Army Chaplain during WWII. This includes accounts of the liberation of Dachau, an Army seder in Germany and work with Holocaust survivors in Displaced Persons camps in Austria, as well as his involvement with the clandestine transport of survivors to Palestine, known as the Bricha.
