This is the South Bronx from 1990 to 2005 in Engine 92 & Ladder 44. It chronicles an era that is no more. It's focused on the astounding number of great guys who worked in such places, what that work was like against the backdrop of a city in turmoil. There were still some of the "dinosaurs" left, those guys who'd worked through the war years of the late 1960s into the early 1980s. They shared their wealth of information, experience and maintained the traditions that many of the post-WW II and Korean War veterans forged. It was a tumultuous time, but also a great one.
