Promises to Break is the fourth book in The Holliday Series by the Louisville P.I. following the preceding A Vicious Peace (2021), Redemption (2021), and Kennedy's Mistress (2016).
Promises to Break finds Holliday hired to find an old friend's missing daughter and husband. Complicating the assignment is that Holliday's old friend is the very woman with whom he broke off a relationship twenty years earlier to attend college. As a result, Holliday finds himself caught between his love from the past and the woman he currently loves. In the course of his investigation, Holliday also discovers himself pursued by government agents, who look into his war-time past, attracted to a back-to-nature commune and their plight, as well as fascinated by a military depot and its secrets.
And to top things off, the mean streets of Louisville have never been meaner.
