The Dog Pound: 40 Days in County Jail - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

There are 2.3 million prisoners in the United States—And for 40 chilling days J.W. Scott was one of them. All it took was a moment of poor judgment to send a law-abiding citizen into The Dog Pound, and the heart of a system which treats men as animals.Lockup is no place for a middle-aged, middle-class man … but even a lifetime of safe choices wasn't enough to prevent the humiliation, financial burden, emotional distress and physical danger of Scott’s six-week ordeal.Bloodied, broken and terrified, Scott finds unlikely friendship within the jail population ... only to later be shunned by the outside world upon his release.Vivid and gritty, “The Dog Pound” is a cautionary tale for all law-abiding citizens, and it should be a wake-up call for the American penal system.
