WHO IS THIS BOOK FOR?

It’s for all children who’d benefit from practicing the skills mentioned above. Your child might just be at the stage of development where they are beginning to pick up pens and pencils and make some kind of mark with them, albeit haphazardly. Or your child might be a little older and has the finger strength and coordination to make marks on the page more accurately. This book is good for either scenario and for anything in between.

And it’s for parents/carers who are happy for their children to just have a go and have fun!

WHO IS THIS BOOK NOT FOR?

This book is not for any adult who puts more importance onto what their child produces as a piece of artwork than their experience of learning itself. And it’s not for any adult who wants to buy the ‘perfect’ book because nothing is perfect. I am not perfect, you are not perfect, your child isn’t perfect and this book isn’t perfect…because perfection is subjective…what’s perfect in one person’s eyes isn’t in another’s.

A BIG imperfection of this book, for instance, is that it does not have perforated, easy to tear out pages. I am not the publisher and so I have no control over how the pages are made. So, I had a decision to make: Create this book so that children get to enjoy it or don’t create it because it won’t have easy to tear out pages? I chose to go with ditching any perfectionism on my part and created it anyway, safe in the knowledge that it’s pages are amenable to a pair of scissors.

And I want to take the burden of perfectionism off you too. Your child is AMAZING and most of what they need to succeed in life is contained in knowing that YOU think they’re AMAZING too, no matter what their art work is like at the age of 3 or 4, 4 or 5 or ANY age!

WHAT ELSE CAN I TELL YOU ABOUT THIS BOOK?

• It has 30 8.5x11 inch dot marker coloring pages, in 3 different styles, depicting different vehicles – diggers, tractors, trucks, ambulance, fire engine, ice-cream van, cement mixer, monster truck etc.
• Each page is blank on the reverse to reduce bleed of dot marker ink. Bleed can happen, particularly with young children who push down quite hard on their marker pens.
• It comes with suggestions on how to support your child whilst promoting their ability to be independent.
• It does NOT come with dot markers.
• Its dot marker circles are mainly large to set your child up for success, but some are smaller to create further challenge.
• 10 of the 30 pages also give your child the chance to practice their handwriting skills.
• It has a variety of images in different styles to maximise your child’s concentration skills.
