In this book, we used pictures of our kids and surroundings to help them learn basic literacy skills. In order to teach kids how to read and make it a positive and rewarding experience, we try some simple strategies such as nursery rhymes to build phonemic awareness; simple word cards or pictures or games to make familiarize the words at home. We must acknowledge the fact that every child learns on his or her own pace so the only thing we as parents can do is to try new ideas and approaches regularly so that learning continues.
