The Top Secret Wartime Journal of Evacuated Nellie (Wartime Nellie, Band 1) - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

War was declared against Germany months ago but 10 year old Nellie Walker and her brother Frank are still waiting for something exciting to happen in East London where they live. When the Germans do finally begin bombing, the children are sent away to Torwenno in Cornwall to stay with strangers. But is Torwenno any safer? And if so, why hasn't Frank turned up for school? Why are sheep disappearing, and what are you supposed to do with an escaped German? Budding author and illustrator Nellie Walker reveals all in her top secret wartime journal, as well as the following 3 things: 1) the ups and downs of her friendship with Mary O'Reilly. 2) How she manages to make new friends. 3) How she keeps managing to get into trouble, in spite of constantly trying to be good. And as an added bonus, she includes exclusive extracts of her new novel, 'Desert Hero", written especially for her favourite film star, Johnny Mack Brown.
