The two volume set lists more titles than most books of its kind and provides names of lead singers, uncredited groups, origin of record labels and groups, and different names under which a group recorded. The guide includes much previously unpublished information and record titles in addition to putting diverse information in a single place that was gathered from multiple sources. Methods for identifying different pressings are presented for titles that have multiple pressings that sell for different prices. The year of issue for different pressings of the record is also presented. The prices listed are based on the actual realized prices of multiple copies of a title, which is a superior method to ones employed in similar price guides.
