This book was first published back in 2015 and given further information has come on line since that time I felt that it would benefit greatly from some updating. Consequently, I revisited each chapter adding new information along with adding a new chapter. The book examines briefly the career of eighteen players who travelled down to Sydney to play in the Australian game. Each made an impression on the game down under or simply had an interesting story to tell. In addition to that, the book answers questions with regard to these ‘Brits’:-
The first to play regular first grade in Sydney after WW2
The first to win a Grand Final
The first to win man of the match in a Grand Final
Who played only won Challenge Cup game but has a winner’s medal
Who flew into Sydney won a Grand Final and flew out
Who lost a Grand Final and a Challenge Cup final by a similar narrow margin
Who introduce a round the corner kicking style in Sydney
Who lost his wife in a bizarre tragic accident
Who was Australian but all thought he was South African

I felt that the selection of the players in the book was a personal choice as each had a quirky story to tell. Consequently, the book will appeal to fans who follow the game from way back to the beginning of the game in Sydney. Hopefully it will trigger the readers own memories of players they felt should have made selection for the book.
