Voted into power democratically, the Party has taken an iron grip on the country, dismantling the old economic system and imposing state control, with mass denouncements of citizens it regards as wreckers. It has established a personality cult for its Supreme Leader and exerts grinding interference over all aspects of life. The Party sees itself as morally correct in all things and any challenges are crushed with dissidents banished to communes. But the Supreme Leader has not been seen for months and at last there is growing resistance. Can the Party be stopped and what will the military do?
