This Book 1 of 3 is a colorful, photographic display of 39 picturesque images the author captured on her driving tour from Silver Spring, Maryland to Harrisonburg, Virginia, her hometown. Instead of traveling the usual 495 Beltway and Interstates 66 and 81, she chose traveling alternate routes for a more scenic view: U. S. highways, backstreets, and alleys within Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont regions. Her selected photographs are presented in the following categories: historical churches, heavily textured structures, antiquated vehicles, unusual structures; decorative front porches, community centers, old time general stores, printing presses, unique signs, and specialty eateries.
