Beyond Reach (Cornish Conundrums, Band 10) - Softcover

Inhaltsangabe

A dawn call to Bude policeman Peter Travers: the master of Merrifield Manor has lost his wife - halfway through a firework party on the estate.

By chance, occasional sleuth George Gilbert had just met the owner’s son. He was devastated, especially when the police found no easy solution. George didn’t like half-solved problems.

Meanwhile, her friend Maxine, recently promoted at Cleave Camp Listening Station, had been given a challenge of her own. Why was trust so poor at the Camp? How far back did this go? Could the cobwebs be swept away?

Both inquiries meant delving into Bude's past: a Canal, a Railway, even a wartime Airfield. And making disturbing links to present-day remains. But George also found another memory: one that was no longer beyond reach.
