9798411666649: Fast Food Murders

Inhaltsangabe

While investigating the murder of a doctor who was crusading against fast-food, Lawton Chief of Police Jenkins is shot in the back and almost killed. Bishop takes over the investigation for him while he recovers, promising to also find whoever attempted to kill Jenkins in the process.

In his search for leads on the case, Bishop uncovers two other seemingly unrelated deaths. A young girl who died from contaminated vaping liquid, and a dog left to bleed out on the side of the road after being fatally injured in a dog fight. Bishop takes it into his own hands to bust up the black-market vaping ring selling at the local schools, and to educate the victim’s friends on the dangers of vaping.

Bishop’s investigation takes twist after twist while searching for the doctor’s murder, the person who shot the chief, and the dog fighting ring he’s determined to shut down. When the life of one of the attorneys involved in the cases is threatened, Bishop has to take him off his suspect list, and add finding whoever’s threatening the attorney to his investigation as well.

Just when he thinks he’s starting to close in, one of the men he believed could have been involved in the murder and Jenkin’s shooting is killed and found floating face up in Bishop’s pond.

Bishop is ready to throw in the towel and turn the cases back over to Chief Jenkins as soon as he gets his doctor’s approval to go back to work. Before that can happen though, Bishop finds himself face to face with the killer, staring down the muzzle of a gun, and wishing he had thought to bring his own.
