At Happy we seek to create joy at work, for ourselves and for our clients. Generally we see this as about creating a culture based on trust and freedom, and creating environments where people enjoy coming to work and can feel fulfilled. As I set out in the introduction to The Happy Manifesto:
“Imagine a workplace where people are energised and motivated by being in control of the work they do. Imagine they are trusted and given freedom, within clear guidelines, to decide how to achieve their results. Imagine they are able to get the life balance they want. Imagine they are valued according to the work they do, rather than the number of hours they spend at their desk.”
The Happy Manifesto laid down a set of principles and ideas for how to create happy, productive workplaces. What I’ve found since the Manifesto’s publication is that people love the ideas and really value practical steps that companies have taken – “nickables” that you can put into practice in your organisation. This playbook is packed with such ideas
