Bridegroom Matins is served on the first three evenings of Holy Week and remembers the last days on earth of the Lord. For ease of use, the unchanging parts for the service are included in each service so the reader doesn’t have to flip back and forth in the book. This book is intended to be used in parishes and attempts to keep the essential structure of the service while incorporating certain abbreviations, i.e., not repeating certain texts. It is offered here in, what I hope, is a reasonable compromise between the long so-called ‘monastic’ service and the often drastically cut parish service.
