About the author: With a background in Law, Business and Sport, Gerard’s main Christian work was initially with young people through Young Life, then in church pastoral work, then over the last twenty-five years in prison ministry—now with Christian Prison Resourcing—and in open-air work and literature distribution both in his church’s ‘Reach’ team and with United Beach Missions and Christian Answer teams in the summer. He has written a number of books and gospel booklets. His wife, Phillippa, works with him in all those avenues of service. They have three adult children, seven gorgeous granddaughters and one lively grandson.
