For Centuries faery have stood accused of stealing humans and whisking them away to there own realm. Babies are perhaps the best know of these stories, but also men and women have also found themselves being whisked away from their homes and loved ones. To a place where nothing is ever as it seems, no moon and no stars it exists in a twilight of neither light or dark, and its inhabitants are neither good nor bad, a place that mirrors our earth but in a topsy-turvy kind of way, but why do they do this. This discussion has been going on for centuries, theologians and historians, folklorists and writers have debated it with some of the best minds in the world, but still no one definitive answer has been agreed on .One thing we do know is that once taken very few ever return to tell us. Some believe that babies are taken to improve the dna of faery, another theory is that they want to have mortality as we do. Some we are told in the event of adult abductions seem to think that they are taken to work as servants, midwives, even to be lovers. Folklore holds many accounts of this occuring throughout time.
One thing we do know is that those who do return are never the same again. Some return as healers with a magical knowledge of herbs and plants. Others have returned as musicians, able to play such music that it puts people in a trance like a state . Whatever the gift they recieve it is obvious that they are so changed that they can no longer live in this world. They grieve and die. This book takes the reader to the land of faery and introduces you to those who have not only been there but returned to tell us about it.
